Last updated: August 10, 2026 DoomStroll ("DoomStroll," "we," "us," or "our") is a screen-time app that lets you shield apps you choose until you complete a walk. We built DoomStroll to respect your privacy: **it runs entirely on your device and does not collect, sell, or transmit your personal data to us or to anyone else.** This policy explains what data DoomStroll uses, where it stays, and your choices.
To block apps, DoomStroll uses Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time framework. When you pick apps or categories to shield, iOS represents them as **opaque tokens. DoomStroll stores those tokens on your device only** and uses them to apply and remove restrictions. DoomStroll does not receive the human-readable names of your apps, and this information is never transmitted off your device.
DoomStroll reads step and pace data from Apple's motion sensors (CMPedometer) to measure your walks — including while your screen is off. This data is processed on your device to determine whether a walk is complete. It is not stored on any server and is not shared with us or third parties.
While a walk is actively in progress, DoomStroll may use location services to keep walk tracking running in the background so your walk still counts with your phone in your pocket. Location is used only during an active walk, is not stored, and is not transmitted anywhere. DoomStroll does not track your location at any other time.
DoomStroll sends local notifications (for example, "Time's up — walk to unlock") from your device. These are generated on-device and are not sent through our servers.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store using StoreKit. Apple handles your payment; **DoomStroll never sees your payment card, billing details, or Apple Account information.** We receive only the subscription status (active/expired) that Apple provides so the app can unlock premium features. Your purchase history is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Your settings — such as your daily allowance, walk length, and onboarding answers — are stored locally on your device using Apple's app storage. They are not uploaded to us.
Because your data lives on your device, deleting the DoomStroll app removes it. You can also clear DoomStroll's data from within the app's settings and revoke Screen Time, Motion, Location, or Notification permissions at any time in the iOS Settings app.
DoomStroll is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because DoomStroll collects no personal data on our servers, no such information is gathered regardless of a user's age.
Depending on where you live (for example, under GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Since DoomStroll stores your data only on your device and we hold none of it, you can exercise these rights directly by managing or deleting the app and its permissions. If you have questions, contact us below.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, an in-app notice.
